We are a small family-owned business that specializes in outstanding companion, service/ therapy, English Cream Style Golden Retrievers. OUR LINES ALL COME FROM EUROPEAN IMPORTS. WE ONLY HAVE 2-3 LITTERS EACH YEAR AND TRY TO HAVE ONLY ONE AT A TIME SO WE CAN GIVE OUR FULL ATTENTION TO EACH PUPPY. We have puppies placed as close as Utah and as far away as New York. We use a pet nanny service that helps with transportation. That too is family owned. At 8 to 10 weeks of age our puppies sit at your feet when they approach you and know the command and hand signals for sit, stay, instruction for, soft mouth, kisses, come, and best of all, how to be your best friend. They do not nip at hands or feet. They are well acquainted with the crate, and travel in a crate in the car. None of our puppies are barkers. They are VERY GENTLE AND MILD TEMPERED. WE ARE KNOWN FOR OUR LOVING, CONFIDENT, NON-BARKING PUPPIES. WE DO ALL THE WORK UP FRONT TO GIVE YOU THE VERY BEST START WITH YOUR NEW COMPANION. Our puppies keep their sleeping area in the house clean even at night when they are locked in. They sleep all night from 10 PM TO 5 or 6 AM shut into the house. We have very few accidents during the night at 8 weeks. The puppies are trained to use a dog door during the day. Our lines are champion, working, hunting, and show lines. We are a recognized BRED WITH HEART, AKC breeder. We breed for temperament, health, and beautiful conformation. We do Advanced Cardiology testing on all our breeding dogs. We also do the Golden Retriever panel genetic testing through ANIMAL GENETICS on all our breeding dogs. CANCER in Goldens is at epidemic levels and we educate all our new families on successful ways to prevent it. We researched our lines to be as free of cancer as we can determine. All of our dogs are cancer free. Our first male, Jack, died of old age, cancer free.
Jack was from the Erdoskerti Kennel in Hungary and was the son of the 2X Hungarian Grand Champion, ERDOSKERTI ZORBA. He was raised by the Hunting Trial Judges of Hungary. This kennel produced the first Seizure Alert Dog in Hungary. All of our puppies carry this line. Our puppies are from Hungarian and Danish championship lines.
We use the Rule of 7 introducing them to as many sounds, people, environments, and surfaces as we can. We provide our new families with the information about the Rule of 7 so they can continue the training needed for a well-rounded dog. We also desensitize the puppies to startling noises, plastic, movements, vacuums, yard equipment, etc. They are handled from the moment they are born, and they are loving, loyal, and courageous. We will never hide anything about the temperament, health, or personality of the puppy you choose, or we choose for you. Puppies live right with us, so they are used to the sounds of a busy household and adapt very well to home environments with, conversation, laughter, children, building projects, and machinery etc. This makes them easy to live with. At Southern Utah Goldens we believe in introducing new challenges in stages and only as the puppy is ready to accept them. Introducing stimulation, desensitization, or social challenges too early can cause anxiety in a puppy and a lack of confidence that can last a life time. We follow the Rule of 7 and have been successful in introducing at least 7 new experiences and challenges in the different categories to every puppy by the time he/she is 8 weeks of age. We expect each new owner to continue with the puppy's development, socialization, and training and we give each new owner the tools to train a respectful, confident, and loving companion.
